National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is a large-scale exhibition complex project jointly established by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in 2011. The total investment is approximately RMB 16 billion, and it is invested, constructed, and operated by National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

With a total construction area of 1.47 million square meters, the facade of the NECC building draws inspiration from a mellow and auspicious "four-leaf clover" with the Commercial Plaza acting as the central core and the exhibition halls as the leaves. Blending with many Chinese elements and design concept of symmetry axis layout, it is one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai.

It is located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, situated in the west of the Hongqiao Central Business District in Shanghai. It is only 1.5 kilometers away from the Hongqiao Transportation Hub, and is closely connected to the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport through aerial corridors, underground passages, and Metro Line 2. The surrounding expressway network is convenient for travel to major cities in the Yangtze River Delta within 1 to 2 hours, while major economic cities in the Asia-Pacific region can be reached by air within 2 to 3 hours.
